PQS declaration: delay in opening of portal

PQS declaration: delay in opening of portal

January 29, 2021

The NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) has notified pharmacy contractors that there will be a delay in opening the Manage Your Service (MYS) portal for Pharmacy Quality Scheme (PQS) declarations. Instead of opening on Monday 1st February 2021, the declaration window will now open by Thursday 4th February 2021.

To ensure contractors have as much time as possible to submit their claims, PSNC and NHS England and NHS Improvement have agreed that the PQS declaration window will be extended and will now close on Monday 1st March 2021 at 23:59. The timing of the PQS payment will not be affected by this change; contractors claiming for a PQS Part 2 payment will still receive their payment on 1st April 2021.

The NHSBSA will alert contractors by email as soon as the declaration portal is opened and PSNC will also communicate this news via this website.

What has caused the delay in opening the portal?

The NHSBSA is helping with the national COVID-19 vaccine effort by facilitating the payment claim process for GPs and pharmacy contractors in their MYS portal. This has meant lots of development work and testing to ensure contractors can easily submit their claims for the COVID-19 vaccine.

As a result of this work, the testing of the PQS declaration has not been fully completed. It is important that the testing is undertaken to ensure the processes are working properly prior to contractors making their declarations, so the delay in opening the PQS declaration is unfortunately unavoidable.
