PQS: Is your pharmacy showing as having met the DoS quality criterion on the NHSBSA weekly declaration data?

PQS: Is your pharmacy showing as having met the DoS quality criterion on the NHSBSA weekly declaration data?

November 25, 2019

The PSNC Services Team has been made aware that a number of community pharmacy contractors have updated/confirmed their Directory of Services (DoS) profile using the DoS Profile Updater; however, their pharmacy is not showing as having met this criterion on the NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) weekly declaration data report.

NHS Digital, who supplies the dataset to NHSBSA, is currently investigating why some contractors are not appearing as having met the criterion on the dataset; however, in the meantime, contractors are encouraged to check the latest NHSBSA weekly report to see if their pharmacy is showing as having met the DoS quality criterion and if not, follow the advice below.

Contractors who have already updated their DoS profile

If contractors have updated their DoS profile on the DoS Profile Updater within the required time period (between 1st October and 11.59pm on 30th November 2019), they should have received an email to confirm this.

  • If contractors have received a confirmation email, then contractors can be assured that they have met the DoS quality criterion. The confirmation email must be retained as evidence of having met the criterion; no further action is required at this stage.
  • If contractors have NOT received a confirmation email, (the email should be received instantaneously after submitting the information on the DoS Profile Updater; however, please allow up to two hours for the email to be delivered) then contractors are encouraged to check their junk mail in case the email has gone into this folder. If the email is not in their junk email folder, contractors should email the NHSBSA Provider Assurance Team (nhsbsa.pharmacysupport@nhs.net) and the Exeter Helpdesk (exeter.helpdesk@nhs.net) with their F code and the date when they updated their DoS profile.

Contractors who have NOT yet updated their DoS profile

Contractors are encouraged to edit or confirm the information about their pharmacy is correct on the DoS Profile Updater as soon as possible, as the deadline for meeting this quality criterion is 11.59pm on 30th November 2019. If contractors miss this deadline, they will not be able to claim for the Digital Enablers domain of the Pharmacy Quality Scheme (PQS). Contractors are also required to have met the NHS website gateway criterion by this date.

Further information on how to meet the DoS quality criterion can be found at: psnc.org.uk/pqsdos.
