Process announced for East Midlands and South Yorkshire Regional Representative election

The process to elect a new PSNC Regional Representative for the East Midlands and South Yorkshire region is now underway.

The region covers Barnsley LPC, Derbyshire LPC, Doncaster LPC, Leicestershire & Rutland LPC, Lincolnshire LPC, Nottinghamshire LPC, Rotherham LPC and Sheffield LPC. Pharmacists who are independent chemists and members or officers of these LPCs are eligible for election as the new regional representative.

A briefing has been written to explain the role of regional representative, the election process, actions required for those seeking to stand for election and timescales. The first stage is a call for expressions of interest between 6th and 21st July 2021.

This election was triggered following the resignation of Garry Myers last month. PSNC would like to thank Mr Myers for his contributions to PSNC and community pharmacy and to wish him all the best for the future.

PSNC webinar: Being a PSNC member

PSNC Director of Operations and Support, Gordon Hockey, will host an open event for officers and members of LPCs in the East Midlands and South Yorkshire Region on Monday 12th July at 7.30pm.

During the event, attendees, PSNC will:

  • Explain more about the election process and provide  information on the role of a PSNC member;
  • Introduce two PSNC members, one of whom will be Reena Barai, who will give an indication of what it’s like to be on PSNC; and
  • Run a Q&A session.

The event will be for one hour and details of how to join the event will be circulated to all relevant LPC members shortly.
