PSNC agrees strategic plan for 2019/20 at latest meeting

February 18, 2019

The PSNC Committee held the first of its new-style quarterly meetings this month, and agreed its plan for 2019/20.

The Committee held important discussions on the NHS Long Term Plan, Brexit contingency planning, price concessions, service updates, and of course the commitment to Primary Care Networks (PCNs) made in the GP funding deal. The Committee also heard from guest speaker Julie Wood, CEO of NHS Clinical Commissioners, who gave her views on how to develop the relationship between CCGs and community pharmacy.

During the February meeting, PSNC’s Strategic Plan for 2019/20 was agreed. The plan pulls together all of the work streams being undertaken by PSNC’s six subcommittees – Service Development; Legislation and Regulatory Affairs; Funding and Contract; LPC and Contractor Support; Communications and Public Affairs; and Resource, Development and Finance.

PSNC’s February meeting was held on the 6th and 7th of the month, and key agenda items included:

  • Discussing the NHS Long Term Plan;
  • Brexit preparations and consideration of the Serious Shortage Protocols;
  • Funding and the Margins Survey;
  • Reimbursement and price concessions;
  • PSNC guidance materials for contractors and their teams; and
  • Support for LPCs setting up provider companies.

Further information is available in our Summary of the February PSNC meeting.
