Quality Payments – How to achieve the Healthy Living Pharmacy quality criterion (October 2018)

October 8, 2018

This PSNC Briefing provides an overview of how to achieve the Healthy Living Pharmacy (HLP) quality criterion of the Quality Payments Scheme for the February 2019 review point.

PSNC has produced similar Briefings on how to become an HLP Level 1 for the previous Quality Payments Scheme review points. There are two main revisions to this new Briefing:

  • For the February 2019 review point, NHS England and Public Health England (PHE) have agreed that contractors whose pharmacies become HLPs locally between 30th June 2016 and 15th February 2019 (this period was 30th June 2016 and 29th June 2018 for the June 2018 review point) will not need to complete the profession led self-assessment process led by PHE to meet the quality criterion (further information on the process that these contractors will need to follow can be found on page 3 of the Briefing); and
  • Information on the new element of the HLP quality criterion which requires, on the day of the review, 80% of staff working at the pharmacy that provide healthcare advice to the public to have successfully completed the CPPE children’s oral health training assessment.
