Quality Payments: Updated gateway criteria report available on NHSBSA website

The NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) has updated its weekly gateway criteria report*, allowing community pharmacy contractors to check whether they have been assessed, using national datasets, as meeting four of the five gateway criteria (Advanced Services, NHS website, Community Pharmacy Patient Questionnaire (CPPQ) and NHSmail) – due to cyber security reasons, the report does not contain confirmation on compliance with the Warranted Environment Specification (WES) gateway criterion, that has been separately confirmed to contractors via email from NHSBSA.

The report has also been updated to show contractors who have submitted their declaration and have been validated by NHSBSA as meeting the five gateway criteria (including the WES gateway criterion). These contractors are highlighted in blue on the report; no further action is required by these contractors.

The review point for the Quality Payments Scheme was on Friday 15th February 2019 and contractors were required to have met the five gateway criteria by that date. Contractors who acted on Friday 15th February to meet the gateway criteria, should be aware that changes made that day to meet the gateway criteria, may not show on the gateway criteria report until the report is updated and published this Friday (22nd February 2019).

Declaration for a Quality Payment

Community pharmacy contractors are now able to make a declaration for a Quality Payment for the 15th February 2019 review point of the Quality Payments Scheme.

As for previous declarations, contractors wishing to claim a Quality Payment will be required to submit their declaration online to NHSBSA; however, for the February 2019 review point, contractors will be able to claim for a Quality Payment via one of two routes, the Snap Survey tool (as used for previous declarations) or the Manage Your Service (MYS) application.

In addition, there is a new process for validating a contractor’s submission to confirm if they meet the gateway criteria and actions that contractors will need to take if NHSBSA cannot validate that a contractor’s submission meets all five of the gateway criteria.

Contractors are reminded that the deadline for submitting a declaration for the Quality Payments Scheme is Friday 1st March 2019 at 11.59pm.
