Reminder: Requirement to update NHS website and DoS profile by end of March 2022

Community pharmacy contractors are reminded of the Terms of Service requirement to ensure they verify and, where necessary, update the information contained in their NHS website profile and their Directory of Services (DoS) profile at least once each quarter* of the financial year. For the current financial quarter, the deadline for completing this is 31st March 2022.

There is also a Terms of Service requirement to ensure that a pharmacy’s NHS website profile and DoS profile include their opening hours on Bank Holidays, Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Since Easter falls in April this year, contractors could also consider updating this information now to ensure this is available ahead of the Easter period.

Even if no changes have been made during the financial quarter, contractors must still verify this information on both their NHS website profile and the DoS Profile Updater as this creates a record which will act as evidence to NHS England and NHS Improvement that these actions have been undertaken.

If contractors are unsure when they last updated/verified their NHS website profile, there are three ‘Last updated’ dates on a pharmacy’s NHS website profile (two of these are displayed on the Overview page and one on the Treatments and Services page). These should all have a date listed which is between 1st January to 31st March 2022.

The DoS Profile Updater, used to update DoS profiles, also has a ‘Date last reviewed’ which is displayed when users log in and begin the review of their pharmacy. Again, this should display a date between 1st January to 31st March 2022.

As reported previously, a new tool called NHS Profile Manager is scheduled for release in spring. However, contractors should not wait for the new tool before ensuring their NHS website and DoS information is listed correctly. PSNC will issue further communications later about the NHS Profile Manager release plan.
