Reminder: Submit FP34C through MYS by 6 May for earlier advance payment

With the early May bank holiday (2 May 2022) occurring in the first five days of the submission window contractors have an extra day (until the end of 6th of May) to submit their FP34C declaration through the Manage Your Service (MYS) portal for NHS pharmaceutical services delivered in April 2022. Contractors must also dispatch their prescription bundle to the relevant pricing division at the NHSBSA by the 6 May 2022. This extended submission deadline applies to any month where one or more bank holiday occurs during the first five days of the month. Please note the requirement to submit electronic Claim Notification (CN) messages or Electronic Reimbursement Endorsement Messages (EREMs) within the first 5 days remains unchanged. CN messages and EREMs for prescriptions dispensed in April 2022 must continue to be submitted by 5 May 2022.

The earlier advance payment date will remain as four working days from the extended submission deadline of the 6th of the month. Therefore, to secure access to earlier advance payments on 12 May 2022, contractors must submit their April 2022 FP34Cs through the MYS no later than 6 May 2022. Contractors who submit their April FP34C figures late through MYS (after 6 May) will NOT receive any earlier advance payments and instead, receive their advance payments in accordance with the normal payment timetable i.e. on 1 June 2022.

Over 10,700 pharmacy contractors who declared their March 2022 FP34C submission figures through the MYS by 5 April 2022 received their earlier advance payments on Monday 11 April 2022 (circa 20 days earlier than the normal advance payment timetable). However, around 350 contractors submitted their FP34C figures late (after 5 April). These contractors will receive their advance payments in accordance with the normal payment timetable i.e. on 1 May 2022.

PSNC’s briefing titled ‘Administrative charges for late submission of prescription forms provides guidance for pharmacy teams on correct end of month submission processes and information regarding how the £25 deduction for late submissions is administered by the NHSBSA.

Further details on the new payment arrangements for contractors are outlined in this PSNC Briefing. Pharmacy contractors can also view an on-demand version of a webinar presented on the changes to advance payments and FP34C submission requirements.
