CPCS – Resources for LPCs

LPCs had a very important role to play in supporting the initial implementation of CPCS in their area and with the introduction of the GP referral pathway into the service in November 2020, there is a further critically important implementation support role for them to play.


Resources to support the implementation of the GP referral pathway

PSNC is working with LPCs and NHS England and NHS Improvement (NHSE&I) to develop a range of resources to support the implementation of the GP referral pathway.

NHSE&I will shortly be publishing a toolkit to support Primary Care Networks (PCNs) and general practices to implement the referral pathway.

In the meantime, the following key points on the referral pathway may be of use in any initial discussions with PCN Clinical Directors or general practices:

Many LPCs organised local events focused on the CPCS for pharmacy contractors and their teams when the service was first launched. This template presentation can be modified as appropriate and used in such events.
