Resources to assist with finding local data

  • Public Health England – Health Profiles: This tool provides a snapshot of health and wellbeing across each local authority in England as portrayed by a range of indicators. They are intended to stimulate discussion between local government and health service providers by highlighting local needs and providing comparisons with other areas as well as with the national average
  • Public Health England (PHE) – Local Tobacco Control Profiles tool: This tool provides a snapshot of the extent of tobacco use, tobacco related harm, and measures being taken to reduce this harm at a local level

Campaign/event tips

  • Use this campaign/event as an opportunity to highlight the available stop smoking services in your pharmacy, if available
  • Offer carbon monoxide, COPD or lung age testing if this facility is available
  • Consider using your web or social media presence (if you have once) to highlight your campaign – this could be particularly helpful in engaging with young people
  • Consider encouraging staff and customers to make a pledge to the Breathe 2025 project, and share smoking cessation programmes, activity and campaigns with the Breathe 2025 project
