PSNC Evidence Awards

PSNC Evidence Awards

The importance of evidence to demonstrate the effectiveness of local pharmacy services has increased with the recent changes in the NHS. The PSNC Evidence Awards, which were supported by the Health Education Foundation, were held during the 2013 LPC Conference to further enhance the evidence base for the locally commissioned services. From the many submissions, nine entries had been shortlisted based on the evidence submitted, and LPC Conference delegates voted for the five winners from the shortlist.

Representatives of the five winners are to be interviewed in a new series called “Paving the way for pharmacy” to help encourage other LPCs and pharmacy contractors to get involved with similar services in their areas. These interviews will appear in CPN, but full reports can be found by following the links below.

The five winners chosen were:

  1. Croydon LPC for their Domiciliary Visiting Service
  2. Sheffield LPC for their Seasonal Flu Vaccination Programme 2012/13
  3. South Yorkshire LPCs for their joint Community Pharmacy Respiratory Service
  4. Devon LPC for their Diabetes Support Service
  5. Pharmacy London for their Pan London Alcohol Awareness IBA Service
