Community Pharmacy PCN Leads Confirmed

A PCN Lead has now been confirmed for each of the 19 PCNs in Suffolk.

For each pharmacy this is important as it needs to be included in your PQS declaration “All pharmacies claiming for this domain must submit the name of their appointed Pharmacy PCN Lead and the pharmacy name and ODS code for the Pharmacy PCN Lead as described in the Pharmacy Quality Scheme 2019/20”.

These details, for each PCN are now on the Suffolk PCN Pharmacy Groupings page.

While the above should now provide all the information pharmacies will require to submit a claim under this domain YOU MUST CONSIDER how your pharmacy demonstrates that it has actually engaged with this process.

We would suggest that this evidence may include (this is not exhaustive):

  • Awareness of / agreement with the process for PCN Lead nomination, as facilitated by the LPC.
  • Evidence of discussion about the role both within your pharmacy and with other pharmacies within your PCN.
  • Evidence of discussions with the LPC regarding nominations.

We would also strongly suggest that you should demonstrate awareness of, and agreement with, the appointment of your PCN Lead.
The following would achieve this:

ACTION: EMAIL your new PCN Lead ( address provided on LPC website) with the following:

  • Congratulations on their appointment (you may also wish to thank them for stepping up to represent the pharmacies in your PCN- without someone doing this no payments could be claimed!) and
  • The NAME of a key contact for them in your pharmacy to deal with regarding PCN matters going forwards.

PLEASE do this as soon as possible, and certainly in advance of the PQS declaration.

Details of all Suffolk Primary Care Networks (PCN) groupings along with details of the Pharmacy Lead for each PCN have been updated and are given below:
